ON POINTE – September 2023

Classes begin September 11th, 2023!

We are very excited to get back to weekly classes and hope you are too!

Common Ground is a safe space for dancers to explore their passion, creativity and build theirtechnique. It is a place of mutual resect with zero tolerance for bullying. Treat others how you want to be treated.It is important to respect the space and always put your best foot forward. Come to class with apositive attitude, ready to work hard and of course have fun.

When we are in the studio, we are all on Common Ground.

Payment

As many of our classes now have waitlists, we ask that payment is made to secure your place in the class and to avoid the late fee of $25.00 + HST.

What to bring to class

Dancers should come to class in dress code. They can leave their outdoor clothing, shoes and bag in the lobby, please leave all valuable items at home. Dancers should bring a reusable water bottle to class with their name on it.

Where to go

In DSP you will see which studio each class takes place. Studio 1 is next to Shawarma Creek, studios 2 & 3 are next to Theory Dancewear. For the first few weeks, we will have a list posted by each studio with which classes take place in that specific room.

Drop Off/Pick Up

We strongly encourage parents to drop their dancer off and come back 5 minutes before class isover. Although we do allow parents to watch from the hallway, it can be very distracting to boththe students and the teachers. We will host an open house in December for parent viewing.

Little Dancers

The goal is to have the students come in on their own. Of course, this may be a slower processfor some. We ask that only 1 parent per child accompanies them in the room as it can become chaotic with too many people. With just the teacher in the room, the dancer’s know who to lookto for direction. We will bring parents in the last 10 minutes of the last class of each month for a demonstration.

If your dancer is not coming to class, you can submit an absence in your parent portal! No needto send an email. The best way to get in touch with us is via email atinfo@commongrounddance.ca, however you can also call us at 343-552-2432.
